Samsung Controls Smartphone Market

Reports comScore research institute in May 2011 revealed a surprise as well as good news for Samsung. According to comScore, Samsung is currently the OEM or manufacturer of the most popular smartphone American consumers.

Samsung's position in the smartphone market has a percentage of 24.8% which means there is at the top leadership of all smartphone OEMs whose products are circulated in America. The second position is occupied by LG with 21.1% and followed by Motorola with 15.1%. When examined, not coincidentally, all three OEMs who occupy the top position was a major OEM with Android as the OS of their choosing.

In fourth place there is Apple with 8.7% and 8.1% followed by RIM. From these results can also be seen there are two that decreased sympathetic OEM market, each one is down -1% Motorola and RIM (Blackberry) to get sympathy -5% compared to February 2011.

This fact is quite interesting especially Samsung reportedly will also release a new version of the Galaxy II. Regrettably however the research did not include a name given the Taiwanese manufacturer HTC was quite successful with Android smartphones and tablet this year.
