Nokia More Accepted in China Rather than iPhone

As also happened in other parts of the Earth, the smartphone also more loved in China. The existence of internet and web browsing needs more to make the Chinese people depend on the smartphone.

Then, what is a favorite smartphone in China? For business web browsing, iPhone is not the most desirable but actually the Nokia 5230!

The Nokia 5230 is not new. Nokia released it in 2009 and became the most widely used mobile phones in China to access the internet. Hard to believe it if it turns out the Chinese people still like a mobile phone with Symbian OS version of the old school: D

Image above shows a graph of internet surfing in China based on a phone is used. Although studies were not conducted by professional research institutes, but quite believable given the results issued by the director of Ogilvy's Asia-Pacific region.

Quite interesting to know the fact that Nokia still dominates China through his cell phone number. From the graph can also be read that the iPhone is slightly below Nokia 5230 in terms of number of hours for internet surfing. Meanwhile, the Android OS as a whole is in position 5 for the mobile Internet.

Nokia has a feature to provide a diverse selection of smartphones at an affordable price. An iPhone sold for 5000 yuan (U.S. $ 753) in China, while the Nokia 5230 for only 1200 yuan (U.S. $ 185). It must be a separate option for the people of China since iPhone can only be reached by upper-middle class.

Not only Nokia, Ovi App Store is also a major source for mobile apps. A study conducted earlier this year showed Ovi App Store is mobile app stores the most frequently visited in China. Percentage is in the range of 65.2%, while Google's Android Market and accessible 13.7% of Apple's App Store had to yield to 9.4%. The results obtained from data collected throughout 2010.

Nokia has probably lost in the U.S. smartphone market, and also Japan and other countries. But in China, Nokia should be proud because it has a respectable position to beat Apple and Google.
